Clovis, CA - College students frustrated by the lack of general education classes available at local colleges and universities have a new resource for undergraduate courses thanks to an innovative partnership between California Baptist University and Clovis Adult School. On August 17 the Clovis Unified School District Governing Board approved the agreement, paving the way for local students to receive accredited undergraduate units from California Baptist University’s Division of Online and Professional Studies (CBU/OPS).

To support the Clovis community in a time when the Cal State and Community College systems are greatly reducing their course offerings, CBU/OPS is offering an unprecedented tuition rate similar to that of the California State University System. The new partnership opportunity presents a convenient option for those wanting to continue their education. Students will have options to get the general education courses they need, at Clovis Adult School’s local community facilities or online. Courses will be offered in online, face to face, or hybrid (combination of online and face to face) formats every eight weeks. Go to www.clovisadultschool.com and click “college classes” for more information or to register. Classes begin September 5th.

Clovis Adult School has been serving Clovis and the surrounding communities since 1968. Annual enrollment is approximately 15,000 students. Clovis offers classes in Academic, ESL, Career Technical Education (Vocational Training), Nurse Education & Health Career, Family Literacy, Older Adult, and Community Education programs. Clovis Adult School has received approvals and accreditations from prestigious local and national organizations including accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and is approved for American Veteran Training, and has garnered approvals by the Fresno Workforce Connection and the Madera Workforce Development Board.

As a 2011 U.S. News & World Report First Tier Best Master's College institution, California Baptist University has Accreditations and approvals that include the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs, National Association of Schools of Music, State of California Board of Registered Nursing, Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and Board of Registered Nurses.
