March 31 the Foundation for Clovis Schools will recognize 15 high school juniors for overcoming personal obstacles to make completing their education a priority. The students, three from each Clovis Unified high school, will receive $1,500 scholarships to be used for post-secondary education. Fresno Mayor Alan Autry will be the keynote speaker at the evening event.
The honorees have faced personal challenges such as the loss of family members, debilitating illnesses or gang involvement; oftentimes becoming mentors to other students dealing with similar challenges. The students are nominated by high school counselors and selected for the award by Foundation for Clovis Schools directors.

Student honorees and Foundation for Clovis Schools’ directors will be available prior to the start of the awards presentation for interviews.
