Tarpey Elementary School Teacher Receives “A Day Made Better” Surprise from OfficeMax on October 5
On Tuesday, October 5 at 9:45 a.m., Tarpey Elementary School Teacher Tacy Kroell will be
surprised
with $1,000 worth of school supplies as part of the “A Day Made Better” national cause event celebrating teachers for their extraordinary efforts in the classroom.
The “A Day Made Better” program was started, according to founders OfficeMax and Adopt-A-Classroom, because teachers spend $1,000 out-of-pocket annually on essential classroom supplies. OfficeMax and Adopt-A-Classroom wanted to lead the fight against teachers having to spend their own money on these supplies. So, on October 5, one thousand teachers across the nation, including Tacy Kroell, will receive surprise deliveries of school supplies from OfficeMax worth a total of $1 million dollars. The Jonas Brothers are kicking off this year’s national cause by highlighting the fact that we can make “Every Day Made Better” for teachers with the support of celebrities and community members alike.
Winning teachers were nominated for this award by their principals for demonstrating passion, dedication and innovation in the classroom.
Since “A Day Made Better” first began in October 2007, OfficeMax has funded more than 3,500 teachers and their classrooms on behalf of the “A Day Made Better” cause and helped attract donations for 10,000 classrooms through Adopt-A-Classroom.
