Schools in Clovis Unified will mark the second anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on America with quiet observances. Each of the district’s 34 school sites will observe the day in some way, with several holding memorial ceremonies and others sharing moments of silence.
At its September 10 meeting, the Governing Board intends to adopt a resolution declaring September 11, 2003, Patriot Day in Clovis Unified. This resolution follows President Bush’s proclamation directing flags be flown at half-staff and appropriate memorial observances be held throughout the nation in honor of those American’s killed on 9-11.
Please see the attached list for specific ceremonies planned throughout Clovis Unified on September 11, 2003. When visiting any CUSD campus, members of the media should first report their arrival to the school administrative office.
